What a beautiful day! Everyone that witnessed it, knows how special it was!
Cara and Kyle became friends in 2002 while trying to navigate the high school scene. Kyle, like any teenage boy, was clueless about Cara’s crush on him. High school came and went, and though they had great times as friends, Kyle and Cara went their separate ways.
Ten years down the road, they met again at an event thrown by two of their family members. Though the two fought it, it was clear to everyone that they were meant for each other. The couple didn’t have an easy road ahead with all of life’s struggles, but they quickly learned that with God as their focus, they were stronger together than they ever could be apart.
Kyle wanted the engagement to be a reflection of their life together, and of his love and adornment for Cara. He made a smooth entrance picking her up in a limo, and whisking her away to dinner at a favorite downtown eatery where they’d had their first Valentine’s dinner together. He then surprised her by taking her to the rooftop of Center in the Square, where he had engineered a sign out of lights that asked “Will you marry me?” Of course, she said yes!
Kyle and Cara are excited to continue on to the next part of their journey, now as one. They celebrated their reunion at the beautiful venue of Virginia Mountain Vineyards, in Fincastle.
