Marlyne & Joe met each other for the first time in their first year of high school in Roanoke, Virginia. They were both immediately and secretly attracted to one another. After a couple of awkward high school years, Marlyne worked up the nerve to ask Joe to attend homecoming with her, and from that moment onward they would never be alone again.
“For some time I had known that there is no one I would rather share my life with than Marlyne” said Joe, “and I knew that she felt the same way too”.
So on Valentine’s Day in 2013 on a quiet bank of the James river, he proposed to Marlyne with a wooden ring that he made, (later to be replaced with one that was a little more shiny), and of course she said yes!
Finally, on the 15th of May 2014, a rainy Thursday, Joe got to see Marlyne for the first time in her wedding dress walking down the aisle toward him, in the barn of The Kyle House. I have then surprised them by taking them to Virginia Mountain Vineyards for some pictures with the wedding party. We probably had 20 minutes max and right when they all jumped up together, it started pouring down… And we had the venue’s little puppy joining them too!
“Neither of us knows what the future may hold, but both of us are sure that as long as we are together, there is nothing in this world that we can’t handle”. Marlyne & Joe – May 15th 2014
Thank you Matt Alexander for assisting me on this wedding! You were such a great help!
